Yes! If your countertop is glossy, Granite Shield increases the shine. You will notice much more detail in reflections in the surface.
WILL GRANITE SHIELD MAKE MY HONED OR FIRED COUNTERTOPS GLOSSY?
No. When Granite Shield is used on matte or honed finishes, the surface stays matte or honed. There is no shine added; however, if your stone is shiny, it will increase the shine.
Quartz and engineered stones will increase their gloss considerably, much like a polished granite, unless they are a factory matte finish from the manufacturer.
WILL I STILL BE ABLE TO SEE THE PITS AND FISSURES IN MY STONE?
Granite Shield noticeably decreases the visibility and feel of natural pitting and fissures in stone, though it will not "fill them in".
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO APPLY GRANITE SHIELD?
A 50SF kitchen will take just 1 hour to apply.
DO I NEED TO LET MY STONE “CURE” AFTER GRANITE SHIELD
HAS BEEN APPLIED?
No. Your stone will be ready for use as soon as Granite Shield is applied in most instances. Some Juparana and other very light stones may require additional cure time. Your Granite

However Granite Shield will reduce the potential of etching on your marble and travertine up to 80%. Granite shield has etch-removal polishes which take about 5 minutes to remove most etching.
Acidic juices, alcohol and vinegar can etch your marble and travertine if it is left unattended on your stone surface.
WILL MY GRANITE STILL BE ABLE TO ETCH?
No. Granite Shield is etch-proof on polished granites and is backed by the Granite Shield LIFETIME WARRANTY. Exclusions apply with Absolute Black and Blue Bahia due to their calcite content.
WHAT IF I ALREADY HAVE STAINS AND/OR ETCHES IN MY STONE?
GS Delmarva Distributing can remove most any stains or etching in your stone as a billable service.
CAN GRANITE SHIELD BE APPLIED OUTDOORS?
Yes. Granite Shield can be applied to outdoor natural stones providing the industry’s ONLY TRUE LIFETIME WARRANTY! No other product provides this level of performance and protection!
IS GRANITE SHIELD USED ONLY ON STONE PRODUCTS?
No. Granite Shield treatments can be applied to stainless steel, glass, tile & grout, butcher block, and even concrete to restore original beauty, dramatically reduce
